What Are The Benefits From Using Narrow Aisle Forklifts?

Narrow aisle forklifts are hugely popular in the industry these days especially when it comes to busy and crowded warehouse environments. They can operate efficiently in these spaces, offering up to 50% more pallet space in the same area.

The forklifts are offer unique solutions, when space is limited and machinery is required to navigating narrow mezzanine. There are many benefits to using narrow aisle forklifts, and we’re going to go through some of the main ones here…

Improved safety

Even highly experienced operators can still make mistakes when maneuvering larger forklifts in tight spaces. A small mistake has the potential to become a big accident, leading to possible injury and damage to products. Opting for a narrow aisle forklift, which is specifically designed to work well in small spaces can help to prevent or mitigate any potential risks that would be associated with bigger forklifts. The ease of maneuverability will help to greatly reduce the possibility of accidents and injuries occurring.

Better navigation

The vast majority of warehouses are filled with inventory, and have thoroughly stacked rows, tiers or mezzanines, full of stock. Often the stock may already exceed capacity, but the warehouse may be simply unable to acquire more space, and maybe taxed on the limited space it already has. The solution often involved narrowing the aisles to create more space, and therefore store more inventory. This makes narrow aisle forklifts the most effective choice to ship and recieve any stock, good and products, in this common type of warehouse environment.

More cost effective

Compared to alternative forklift models, such a reach trucks and counterbalance forklifts, narrow aisle forklifts tend to be cheaper in general. This is due to the fact that they require less parts and time to produce, but also they often need less maintenance and less fluids to operate. Another bonus is that they are rarely overused and bear a specific objective and function, which all increased their longevity.

Enhanced handling

Despite being able to perform most of the tasks that other larger forklifts can accomplish, narrow aisle forklifts are far less cumbersome. They are easier to maneuver and operate and are far simpler to learn how to use for novice operators. In an environment with tight spaces, these forklifts can provide a fast and safe solution, improving overall efficiency and productivity.

Testimonials

H&F have supplied us with all our fork lift equipment for in excess of ten years now, and have maintained it in accordance with our stringent operation requirements. During this time they have provided a consistently high level of service (including short term hire when required) whilst never failing to support us in a totally honest and professional manner.

Ashley Basset, Director

H&F Lift Trucks are a pleasure to deal with. All staff, Technicians, Sales and Directors have hands-on experience of all ranges of vehicles they supply. From initial assessments and listening to all users of a potential new vehicle requirement, they keep us informed of all aspects of specification and lead times through to delivery. Their maintenance service is superb – they organise suitable times around our busy working day with our Yard Managers. Any accidental damage or operator error faults are always discussed with me and dealt with fairly – not like some unscrupulous suppliers who seek to profit at every service visit! In a cut-throat market, where we are offered “good deals” a few quid cheaper every day, we are never tempted to stray.
