Why you should consider an electric forklift for your workplace

We’ve previously spoken about the different pros and cons that are associated with gas, diesel and electric forklift trucks but we thought we’d dedicate this blog to a more in-depth look at why you should consider an electric forklift for your workplace.

Durability

Electric forklifts have a longer lifespan than other types of forklift trucks which means that even though they initially have a higher cost because of the battery and charger, they actually work out more cost-efficient in the long-run. This is because you won’t need to replace your forklift truck as quickly as you would if you had another kind. If you want a forklift truck that will really go the distance then consider an electric one.

No fuel costs

It obviously goes without saying that an electric forklift truck does not need any fuel to run. But you may not realise just how much money that could save you over the course of your forklift truck’s life. Not only that, but you’ll be saving the environment too. No emissions means they are incredibly eco-friendly and you won’t be violating any environmental laws when using your forklift.

Reduced maintenance costs

Because of their lack of need for fuel, they don’t contain the parts that need the most maintenance, upkeep and repair in other forklifts. These include parts such as catalytic converters, belts or spark plugs. These are the parts of a forklift that are most susceptible to wear and tear and can drive up maintenance costs.

Versatility

Whilst engine-powered forklifts have got that bit of extra power behind them, electric forklifts make up for it with their versatility. Electric forklift trucks come in all shapes and sizes and you can decide whether you want a three or four wheel counterbalanced truck, stand on reach or sit on truck. They’re also typically a little narrower than other kinds of forklift trucks which means they have increased manoeuvrability for your complete convenience.

If you’re looking for electric forklifts for sale or hire, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here at H&F Forklifts – we have a variety of forklifts just ready and waiting!

Testimonials

H&F have supplied us with all our fork lift equipment for in excess of ten years now, and have maintained it in accordance with our stringent operation requirements. During this time they have provided a consistently high level of service (including short term hire when required) whilst never failing to support us in a totally honest and professional manner.

H&F Lift Trucks are a pleasure to deal with. All staff, Technicians, Sales and Directors have hands-on experience of all ranges of vehicles they supply. From initial assessments and listening to all users of a potential new vehicle requirement, they keep us informed of all aspects of specification and lead times through to delivery. Their maintenance service is superb – they organise suitable times around our busy working day with our Yard Managers. Any accidental damage or operator error faults are always discussed with me and dealt with fairly – not like some unscrupulous suppliers who seek to profit at every service visit! In a cut-throat market, where we are offered “good deals” a few quid cheaper every day, we are never tempted to stray.
